Quilting Workshop

Master the techniques of quilting in this introductory one day workshop.

Expert quilter Kelli Angell will guide you through the steps to create a beautiful quilted Missouri Star. Learn how to create your patchwork pieces, build your quilting and make a 12" square ready to turn into a cushion or use as a decorative piece.

You will learn all the skills you need to create your own masterpiece quilt, including:

• Choosing suitable fabric for design and sewing level.
• Necessary equipment/threads
• Cutting accurately with a rotary cutter and ruler
• How to build a design
• How to piece and nest point accurately
• Adding a suitable border, butting, mitred etc..
• Different types of wadding and building a quilt sandwich
• Method of fixing sandwich
• Quilting techniques

£50 including wadding and backing fabric, tea and coffee.

Please bring the following:
Sewing Machine – you must be able to lower the feed dogs or cover them with a darning plate
A quilting/embroidery foot for your sewing machine
6 x fat quarters (16" x 16") and matching thread
A basic sewing kit
& preferably a cutting mat and cutter (not essential)
Your lunch

PLEASE NOTE: Lechlade Craft Barn is accessed via external stone steps and regrettably is not suitable for people with mobility issues. We run workshops at Millets Farm near Abingdon and the Cotswolds Discovery Centre near Northleach, both of which are accessible venues.

Find us opposite the entrance to Moorgate, not far from Lechlade Garden Centre.
