The Oxford International Film Festival 2018 will take place from the 11th-13th May at the Curzon Oxford and The Ultimate Picture Palace.

Oxford International Film Festival is delighted to celebrate its third year with two new host venues - Curzon Oxford and The Ultimate Picture Palace. These distinct venues will provide the perfect environment to screen a selection of the best independent cinema from around the world. The locations of the two cinemas will open the festival to the wider city of Oxford, leaving film fans with a greater sense of the magnificent city. Director of Operations Neil Jeram-Croft says, ‘We are really excited to be partnering with the brand new Curzon cinema in Oxford. Curzon has a rich history with independent film which makes the venue with is great screens and glamourous bar areas a perfect main venue. It is also great to be screening at the fantastic Ultimate Picture Palace, Oxfords only truly independent cinema, which embodies the independent spirit of the festival. Each venue will complement the films perfectly, giving screenings their own unique flavour.’

The line-up represents feature films, short films, documentary’s, animation, student films, experimental films and and music videos from a diverse range of genres that portray many stories from around the world.

The narrative feature line-up includes supernatural horror Indiana about a disillusioned medium on one last case, the French thriller Merrick, which focuses on a former boxer surviving in a post-apocalyptic world, whilst In Love with Lou tells the story of a psychoanalyst’s rejection of love in pursuit of intellectual perfection.

The fantasy film Behind the Blue Door, psychological horror Hippopotamus and romantic comedy Love is Dead round out the rest of the narrative feature selection. Documentary feature is represented by Citizen Clark…A Life of Principle about former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark.

Included in the shorts line-up is the Rosamund Pike starring Human Voice, which is an adaptation of the play by Jean Cocteau and Gone, which sees Suranne Jones dealing with a breakup. There is also short documentary #TakeMeAnywhere, in which Hollywood star Shia LaBeouf hitchhikes via the internet with the artist collective LaBeouf, Rönkkö & Turner.
