An unmissable cultural highlight of Oxford’s summer, Oxford Playhouse and the Bodleian Library welcome back the Globe on Tour with not one, not two, but three shows! Experience theatre as it was performed in Shakespeare’s day, with this unique theatrical event set in the Old Schools Quadrangle, one of the UK’s most glorious locations.

In the Elizabethan era, when the theatres closed, a small group of actors, juggling a variety of roles from their extensive repertoire, would leave London and head off on tour. The choice of play performed was left to the most powerful person in the household. So, in a first for Shakespeare’s Globe, eight actors will offer you, the audience, the chance to choose which of three plays you’d like them to perform: The Merchant of Venice, The Taming of the Shrew or Twelfth Night.

Please not there will not be a performance on Monday 23 July.
