Kenneth MacMillan: Dance on Film, with Dame Monica Mason

'New Wave Ballet' explores twentieth-century choreographer Kenneth MacMillan's early work. This newly-reversioned version of the documentary film features interviews and never before seen archival footage. Filmmaker Lynne Wake will introduce the film. The screening will be followed by a discussion on working with Kenneth MacMillan led by Dame Monica Mason, who danced in Sir Kenneth's ballets.

A drinks reception will follow the screening and discussion.

Monica Mason is former Director of The Royal Ballet, a position she held 2002–2012. In 2002, she was awarded an OBE and in 2008 was created a Dame Commander for her services to dance. In 2014 she became Chairman of The Royal Ballet Benevolent Fund.
Lynne Wake was a professional ballet dancer with the Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet (now Birmingham Royal Ballet) before becoming a filmmaker.

Booking deadline: 16 February 2018.
