Denman College is hosting TWO exhibitions during June to August 2017
The two exhibitions are A STITCH IN TIME and A POINT OF VIEW
A STITCH IN TIME
Three women artists all inspired by stitch, dress and heritage but with very different practices. Work will include meticulously folded map dresses, soft ground etchings made from antique clothing and photograms, which reference the world of model, muse and photographer, Lee Miller.
All work is for sale and will be exhibited in the Teaching Centre.
A POINT OF VIEW
Five women artists explore themes of landscape and natural pattern using very different techniques. You will see paintings inspired by Cornish coastal landscapes, etched metal wall pieces influenced by aerial views of rural landscape, reconstructed maps cut and layered to form complex new objects, sculptures made from found objects both natural and man-made worn by time and the elements, and lastly a series of three-dimensional wall pieces made from soil samples, which create beautiful textures and patterns. All work is for sale and will be exhibited through the main house.
The exhibition is free and all artwork is for sale.
