ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Spend an exciting week sketching in and around the Beaconsfield area, in your own hardbound sketchbook, which will be supplied.
The week starts lunchtime Monday and finishes lunchtime Friday. Barry will guide you through the sketching processes as you tackle a wealth of different subjects in your sketchbooks. Any sketching mediums are welcome, watercolour, pastel, coloured pencils, acrylics, charcoal & graphite, in fact anything that makes a mark and is easily transportable! Barry will work mainly in watercolour, line and wash but will give guidance in any medium.

The beautiful Beaconsfield area has much to offer, as well as a Historic Guided Tour of Beaconsfield Old Town with Beaconsfield’s own Town Crier you will visit Bekonscot Model Village, the world’s oldest & original model village where you can appreciate what it was like in Gulliver’s time. A little further out of town will be a day at Burnham Beeches. Owned by the City of London, this ancient woodland is famed for its beech and oak pollards – many of which are more than 400 years old – it is also home to a rich variety of fungi, plants and animals. Then it’s a day at The Royal Standard of England, England’s oldest freehouse pub which will enchant you as you walk across it’s medieval floor and stumble across rooms filled with treasures, trophies and ghosts of the past. Finally a visit to Hambledon Lock with its long weir, situated on the River Thames will give you the opportunity to sketch water capturing reflections, light and dark, moving water and still. This is sure to be an exciting week of exploration.
(Order of trips may be different to the above listing)
