West Ox Arts Gallery has great pleasure in hosting Paul Redfern’s exhibition “Weathered Landscapes.”

Paul is an artist who is comfortable in working in diverse media from printmaking to freely formed ceramics and large scale paintings. His landscape and sculptural work bears witness to his passion for wild places in The Peak District and English costal scenery, particularly Dorset.

His work connects with the geological forces that shape the landscape; erosion and fracture are ever present. One can detect a correspondence between the surfaces of his etchings and that of his ceramic forms. His painted surfaces bear witness to chance and change. Paul has also a number of broadly painted seascapes alive with painterly energy.

This will be a show that will be of interest to both lovers of landscape painting and those artists who try to engage with contemporary landscape painting.
