Artist Teacher Collective – Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Windmill Road, Headington, Oxford.

This Artist Teacher Collective came together as a result of the Artist Teacher Scheme MA in Education programme at Oxford Brookes University in which participants are encouraged to confront the barriers to developing their own practice. The nine artists in the collective come from a range of backgrounds and professional educational settings and this diversity is reflected in the exhibited works. This exhibition celebrates our journey over the last three years as we have all, in our different ways, faced and embraced the challenges within our practice.

Originally established in 1999, the Artist Teacher Scheme is a national programme of continuing professional development devised in partnerships between University Schools of Fine Art, Design and Education, and galleries and museums, to enable teachers to regain, develop and strengthen their personal practice in the context of contemporary visual arts.
