Viktoria Mullova violin
Carmine Lauri violin

Marios Papadopoulos conductor

Estonian composer Arvo Part'€™s spiritual music radiates haunting visions of otherworldly beauty; revered for its mesmeric integrity, his music has spread far beyond the boundaries of the concert hall. Here performing three of Part'€™s enigmatic masterpieces, Viktoria Mullova is known the world over as a violinist of exceptional versatility, her extraordinary talent first capturing international attention when she won first prize at the 1980 Sibelius Competition in Helsinki. She is joined by Concertmaster of the Oxford Philharmonic, Carmine Lauri as the second violin soloist for Tabula Rasa. Sibelius'€™s symphonic works are remarkable for their vivid evocation of Finnish landscapes - the fifth symphony concluding with a blazing orchestral triumph.
