In the 2017 Oxfordshire Junior Concerto Competition, the finalists vie for the grand prize as they perform with the Oxfordshire County Youth Orchestra under the baton of the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra'€™s Music Director. Representing a major early milestone in a young musician'€™s journey, the competition is also an inspiration to music lovers and students alike who come to celebrate Oxfordshire'€™s finest emerging talent. Before the jury give their verdict, the winner of the senior 2016 Concerto Competition, Emma Lisney, will perform Tchaikovsky's fiendishly difficult yet thrilling Violin Concerto.
