How do we make great outdoor arts?

The third annual gathering of the tribes for those who make and feel passionate about outdoor work. A summit where you can bring your own agenda, your inspiration and your questions – no panellists, no keynotes and no prescribed programme. Instead a democratic Open Space forum open to all. A space where the collective intelligence of our combined experience and imagination can be harnessed in pursuit of new possibilities for creating performances in public space.

It would be hard to ignore the impact of the referendum on the future of outdoor work. In the world of outdoor arts we are collaborative by nature and international by instinct, unbound by bricks and mortar, and unlimited by our reliance on text. How do we preserve this vision for the future and what do we as artists and practitioners have to say about the world and our relationship to it? How can we make work that is relevant, provocative, inspirational, and that communicates across divisions?

We'll be hoping for a glimpse of what the future of outdoor arts might look like, where we might find fresh perspectives and directions and how we can create new possibilities for coming generations.

Wherever you stand, whatever you believe, you are invited to bring your own inspirations, ideas, conundrums, questions, approaches and challenges - this is a space for everyone who is passionate about outdoor arts.

This Open Space is presented by 101 Outdoor Arts Creation Space in association with Improbable.
