The full-time Drama and Events Supervisor role offers scope for a wide-ranging artistic, creative and administrative contribution to the dramatic life of the school.
We are seeking a person with a passion for drama, and experience of the kind of professionalism, teamwork, organisation and diplomacy involved in supporting the delivery of excellent curricular and extra curricular drama. This post would suit a candidate with excellent interpersonal, administrative and drama/theatre support skills who will relish the challenges of working in a busy school department.
An ability to offer skills/experience in a variety of drama and theatre roles will be particularly welcome, alongside the ability to work well in partnership with Drama department staff, pupils, the Theatre Technical Manager and other members of the Theatre Team, as well as all other users of the Arts Centre spaces. This role also requires working alongside and sharing responsibilities with the Theatre and Events Supervisor.
In addition to a good understanding of practical drama, particular interest/proficiency in some or all of the following areas would be an advantage: design and sourcing of costumes, props and publicity materials; box office management; basic AV/technical skills.
An increasing area of responsibility is aiding with the activities of the School’s commercial arm, Abingdon Sports and Leisure, where the successful candidate will be expected to help run and oversee a large variety of external events acting in a variety of roles.
