We’re seeking a creative, well-organised and proactive Fundraising Officer to enable us to expand our work. This role will further the aims of OFS by maintaining, growing and helping diversify our income and supporter base, with a particular focus on lower-level Trusts and Foundations, regular giving (including Friends, low-level donations, online or in-house donations and one-off events such as Big Give campaigns or community events), and corporates. You will promote fundraising across the organisation.

The successful candidate must enjoy working with a wide range of people, be highly organised and able to manage a variety of tasks. They must be passionate about supporting access to the arts for everyone. They will be experienced in the fundamentals of fundraising relationships and administration to help us to attain our turnover of over £1 million per year with your own fundraising targets.
This is a great opportunity to take on a growing role that combines day-to-day fundraising tasks with opportunities to expand, using your own initiatives, across inhouse and digital communications and with Trusts and individuals, and to learn more about fundraising.

Key responsibilities
Fundraising from Trusts, Foundations, and other grant makers:
Continuously research potential grants from Trusts at any financial level, maintain an ongoing calendar of application and reporting requirements and
communications with Trustees
Prepare requests for funding for small awards under the supervision of the Head of Fundraising and Communications, and take ownership of activity and targets in this area
Collate impact information for reports for funders and compile reports as required
Support the Head of Fundraising and Communications to secure support from major Trusts and Foundations and in maintaining excellent relationships with
funders

Fundraising from individuals and corporates:
Take ownership of strategies to increase individual fundraising for lower-level and Friends income through e.g. networking, newsletters, online appeals,
challenge events, and be willing to suggest and trial new things
Support the Head of Fundraising and Communications with major gifts from individuals through research, arranging meetings, and building relationships with key friends
Take ownership of fundraising events with support from the Head of Fundraising and Communications, CEO and wider team
Build a portfolio of corporate supporters, explore networking opportunities, inkind, charitable donations, and sponsorship
Monitor the philanthropic and local business, cultural and community environments with a view to noting opportunities to develop relationships and support
Support the Front of House team to encourage visitors to donate in the building
Ensure Gift Aid income is maximised

Data and administration:
Maintain clear records of income generated for different projects from small Trusts and individuals and keep Head of Fundraising and Communications and
Finance team up-to-date with this
Send invoices and receipts to donors as needed
Collate information from different databases to provide information on donors to inform campaigns and communications
Maintain an awareness of GDPR regulations
Prepare letters and emails from the CEO and / or Head of Fundraising and Communications when requested
Service meetings of the Fundraising Committee and any associated meetings

Fundraising communications:
Maintain an awareness of daily events at the OFS that could generate content for interesting, creative communications
With the Head of Fundraising and Communications, manage the stewardship and thanking of donors and monitor this, including opportunities for touchpoints / communications
In partnership with the Marketing team, initiate and deliver engaging communications in print and online; there is a real opportunity to take ownership
of, and be creative with, campaigns and materials to increase awareness of and support for OFS
