Freelance contract, fixed term, August-September 2024.
We estimate the time required to fulfil this role to be approximately 20 days, distributed across August and September.
In August, the Assistant Producer will be require for introductory onboarding meetings with the Festival Producer to understand the festival further (in-person or online).
In September, the Assistant Producer will be required on site between the 2nd and 18th September. The exact days and times are to be confirmed.

Key responsibilities of the Offbeat Assistant Producer
- Support the Festival Producer to fulfil the festival’s potential in 2024.
- Ensure activity is on track to deliver the festival and report to line management in good time if any areas are not on track.
- Create festival materials, e.g. artist passes, welcome kits, sign-in sheets, evaluation forms, and contact lists.
- Ensure dressing rooms are labelled as assigned by the Technical Manager and contain refreshments/welcome kit.
- Provide an informed welcome to the performers of the festival ensuring they have all the information they need ahead of their performance/event.
- Contribute to and assist with decorating the public spaces and venues for the festivals.
- Distribute marketing material (posters, programs) through the venues before the festival and collect them when the festival is over.
- Assist the Gloucester Green market stalls and performances, liaising with LSD Promotions and the artists to ensure the days go smoothly.
- Create and distribute documents to inform neighbours of Gloucester Green about the festival.
- Remove all decorations and pack them properly once the festival is finished.
- Other reasonable duties, as requested.

Selection Criteria
If you have all or most of these, please apply:
- A passion for producing art.
- Previous assistant producing experience in festivals, performing arts or events.
- Based in Oxford or willingness to travel.
- Ability to prioritise workload, work under pressure and use initiative.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Time and capacity to assist with the delivery of the festival.
- Availability to be on-site during the festival period from 9 to 15 September
