Creative Learning Practitioner (Freelance)

Creative Learning at ATG is a dynamic department that delivers a high-quality programme of award-winning cultural education that is locally driven, with national significance. We are looking to expand our pool of excellent freelance artists and practitioners at Milton Keynes Theatre and Aylesbury Waterside Theatre and welcome applications from candidates interested in work at either one, or both venues. We specifically require people who can deliver the following:

Weekly Youth Theatre classes for ages 5-21 years (MKT)
Cover for Adult Tap and FitSteps Classes (MKT)
Musical Theatre (Both venues)
Dance (Both venues)
Drama (Both venues)
Make-Up (Both venues)
Technical Theatre (Both venues)
We want our Youth Theatre classes to be inclusive and highly creative for local young people, giving them unique insights into a wide variety of theatre skills and performance styles. Based at the inspiring MK Theatre, you will facilitate weekly sessions and work towards shows and key events through the year.

You will work with our team in a Freelance Practitioner capacity, supporting our commitment to successful working partnerships with visiting production companies, local arts organizations, businesses and schools, which feed into the development of our wide-ranging programme of work.

Main Purpose:

As a passionate, reliable and engaging Creative Practitioner; you will support the Creative Learning Team in developing and delivering workshops/activities at Milton Keynes Theatre/Aylesbury Waterside Theatre and on outreach across Milton Keynes, Aylesbury and their wider areas.

We are looking for talented practitioners whose facilitation style can be tailored to a broad cross section of the community and education sector, with an awareness of the wider cultural and social development of Milton Keynes/Aylesbury, and an understanding of the needs of the local community.

Interviews are scheduled to take place w/c Monday 19 June in both Milton Keynes and Aylesbury. Applicants must be able to attend an interview on one of these dates. Successful candidates from first interview will be invited to a second stage practical interview in early July.
