We provide top-class productions featuring the best UK-based professionals, alongside giving opportunities to local young people to work in a professional production. Alongside our main-stage work, our continuing provision of education and outreach workshops are available to any and all in the county, as is our ‘restoration’ programme in collaboration with Oxford Health NHS. Oxford Opera is committed to using music, theatre and the creative disciplines to enrich the lives of all members of the county of Oxfordshire which the company serves.

Oxford Opera run bespoke and customisable workshops within schools and educational institutions, as well as external workshop days. We are always looking to expand our pool of workshop facilitators, musical directors, and assistants.

Workshop musical director: prior knowledge of opera preferred, and piano skills desirable. No prior workshop experience required.
Workshop assistant: no experience required - just an eagerness to learn, and a passion for getting kids involved with theatre education!

Role opportunities are dependent on bookings, but we currently have a busy calendar for 2023-2024 that is already filling up with events. If you'd like to join our freelancer pool, then email Katie Blackwell (education director) on education@oxfordopera.uk.

Fees for each position differ depending on the nature of the workshop. Full training is provided for the workshops. All applicants must have an existing DBS check, or be willing for Oxford Opera to arrange one.
