New Theatre, Oxford is currently seeking a full time, permanent Technical and Building Manager to join and lead the team in our 1800-capacity theatre. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident leader and skilled technician to work on a diverse and exciting programme, featuring the best names in music, comedy and large scale musicals.

We're looking for a confident leader and skilled technician to join the team, This role is an opportunity to take the lead on all technical requirements for productions and the theatre, including management of the technical and back of house team, and to support the wider maintenance and development of the venue.

Responsible for a permanent and casual team of technicians and maintenance staff, you'll ensure we offer the highest standards of technical support to our productions. Establishing great relationships with the visiting company is a key part of the role. You'll also be responsible for maintaining the building to a high standard and establishing a positive safety culture throughout the venue team, always keeping the customers and the production at the heart of everything we do.

To succeed in this role you'll need to be a clear communicator, able to work closely with the Theatre Manager to develop an effective working relationship with our visiting companies, the venue team, colleagues and ATG's central services as well as contractors and suppliers; great people skills are as important as technical ability for this position. There's a good balance in the role between practical technical work and management of the department; please note regular evening and weekend work will be required. som eelement of Risk Mnagemnet experience is desirable.

this is an annualised hours contract with 120 premium hours to be worked per annum.
