Position: Careers in the Arts Co-ordinator
Reports to: Careers in the Arts Manager
Key Relationships: Watermill Theatre Outreach Director, Corn Exchange Engagement Manager, Careers in the Arts Project Manager
Salary up to £22,000 dependent on experience
Contract: Starting January 2023. Fixed-term to September 2025
Hours: Full time (37 hours per week). Flexible working or part-time job share applications will be considered.
Location: Office based with the option of hybrid working, with travel required between venues and to local schools and community settings
Holiday entitlement: 20 days per annum, rising by one day per year to a maximum of 25 days

Careers in the Arts is a brand new initiative launching in autumn 2022. This programme of work is funded for the next three years by Greenham Trust, working in partnership with both The Corn Exchange, Newbury and The Watermill Theatre. For contract purposes this role is employed by the Corn Exchange.

Working in partnership, the Watermill Theatre and the Corn Exchange have funding to deliver a three-year pilot programme to support young people living in West Berkshire and North Hampshire to understand and benefit from the huge range of transferable skills that can be gained working within the creative industries.

We are looking for a dynamic Project Co-Ordinator to administrate the delivery of this three-year programme of work.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Careers in the Arts Project Manager to deliver and develop the Careers in the Arts programme. You will be responsible for shaping and supporting on the planning, delivery and evaluation of the programmes three strands:

Connect and inspire – connecting with local schools, education and alternative education settings to deliver events, activities, workshops and careers fairs. Establishing a Young Creatives programme across both organisations.
Engage and Nurture – providing in-depth opportunities through work experience, volunteering, masterclasses and take-over days giving young people a deeper understanding of pathways in the arts and culture sector.
Invest and develop – developing progression and training pathways to those wanting to work in the industry. Supporting up to four 6-month-long paid traineeships each year across both organisations.
