Salary / Fee:
£10,960 to £16,016 pa

Chipping Norton Theatre is a restlessly busy and ambitious theatre and arts centre in the
Cotswolds. Welcoming over 50,000 people every year in a town of little over 8,000, The Theatre
delivers a year-round programme of theatre, comedy, music, film and participatory activities for
audiences across the region. More recently, we have grown as a producing house, creating three
major productions each year and growing a stronger and more loyal audience as a result. Some
of these shows have toured the UK and transferred to other theatres.

The Theatre sits at the heart of its community and is an important part of many people’s lives. It is
run by a small team of around 13 permanent staff, with support from casuals and volunteers. The
Theatre has continued as many activities as possible during the last 2 years including most Take
Part activities, a full weekend cinema programme whenever possible, a month-long in house
produced Christmas show, and a season of al fresco cinema and live events this summer. The
team have worked tirelessly and loyally throughout the pandemic and are now enjoying a once
again full programme of activities.

The Take Part Officer sits within a Take Part Department of a Take Part Director and Head of
Outreach (both part time roles). The department runs The Theatre's education, outreach and
engagement work, ranging from our renowned Youth Theatre to an expanding programme of
community projects. The role holds the departments administration and marketing functions and
has the unique opportunity to shape the programmes and to establish their own. It would be a
possible role for those well established in the industry already and also those just starting out; we
would be happy to shape the role around either.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the arts, and their capacity to effect positive
change in people's lives. We would like someone who is great on the detail and confident in their
abilities to deliver a range of events and projects. Above all, the Take Part Officer needs to be a
skilled communicator, keen to work with the people of Chipping Norton and those from a huge
range of backgrounds.

The Theatre team are friendly and supportive, and The Theatre is always keen to invest in its staff
and their futures. We have a book club and lunchtime staff screenings, and sometimes screen
large sporting events for staff in the auditorium. We have a dog day once a week, staff look after
our small back garden and we like to have a big BBQ in the summer months. We meet regularly to
discuss mental health as group and strive to make The Theatre an enjoyable place to work for all.

Closing date: 10am on Monday 4th July
Salary: Pro rata from £10,960 to £16,016 pa (dependent on experience and hours offered)
Hours: Between 21 and 28 a week (including Mondays and Tuesdays)
