Artsmart School of Art run a number of art classes in South Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. In order to comply with safeguarding policy we need a classroom assistant to help our art tutor whilst two consecutive junior classes are run on a Tuesday afternoon. The location is Thame, Upper High Street, and the hours are from 3.30 pm until 6.45 pm. If applying to assist with one class only, the times are from 3.30pm until 5.00 pm or from 5.15 pm until 6.45 pm. Whilst the role is essentially a voluntary one we will help towards the cost of any travel expenses. Applicants will need either to be DBS checked or prepared to supply information that will enable us to apply for a DBS check on your behalf.
There are no specific skills required for this position which is essentially about being present in an environment with young people. An interest in art and/or creative studies would be useful and longer term there may be an opportunity for a greater involvement in the activity.
