About the role…

We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthy Communities Officer to join our team. The varied role includes project initiation and management – particularly focused on arts and health, engagement with diverse and vulnerable communities and collaboration with numerous partners in the community and statutory sector to:

Support and develop arts, leisure and recreation opportunities in the district as means to promote healthy lifestyles
Organise public art projects and monitor contributions
Contribute to the development of the Council’s policy on health and wellbeing
Ensure strong links with key health and social care partners in the statutory sector
Work with health and community sector partners to identify, develop and implement health and well-being projects
Use national and local information to ensure that the needs and views of target groups in the district drive services
Operate and monitor project budgets
Support local voluntary sector partners and foster partnerships and networks

You will need…

An honours degree or equivalent
Proven experience in a similar health related role with a record of successful partnership working
Experience of project management and evaluation
Thorough understanding of the arts and community sector
Experience of managing a budget
Good level of IT skills - MS Office
