During the current Coronavirus pandemic OVADA have developed an exciting project to draw a community of people together and establish a collaborative art project. It is times like this that people turn to traditional craft skills to occupy their time. We are asking young and old alike to contribute to the OVADA Covid Quilt Project by Embroidering, Stitching, Weaving, Sewing, Knitting…. squares that will eventually make up a commemoration of our shared experience.

We are seeking work created in either of the following two options:

• An abstract response using only Orange and Red and black
• Respond to the broad theme of family togetherness and interior life

During lock down and the pandemic we will be digitally stitching the quilt together on our website as well as sharing images on our social media channels.

When we are able to open the OVADA gallery space, we will then celebrate by physically stitching the squares together and exhibiting the it in full to make a giant quilt as a memorial of the pandemic.

We are seeking submissions from anyone and everyone. Submissions should be 15cm square but with a 1cm border for the seams, so the ‘cut’ size should be 17 cm square.

Be part of this exciting opportunity!
