Join us! We're a team of filmmakers in Oxford seeking a talented video editor to come on board full-time and create high-quality, cinematic and engaging digital shorts. We're after someone who's a natural short-form storyteller, who has a passion for bringing new bold ideas to a film, and can grab the viewer's attention so they love what they are watching. You'll have a thirst for editing content that is fresh and unique and a desire to push your creative boundaries.

Whether generating innovative content for some of the country’s top museums and universities, shedding light on the latest scientific discoveries, curating humorous viral campaigns, or travelling the world to capture compelling human stories, we have carved out a reputation as a highly creative on-the-pulse agency at the forefront of specialised digital media.

We are seeking someone whose core skill is video editing and has particular experience in two or more other areas from the following:

– Animation/Motion graphics
– Graphic design
– Colour grading
– Sound editing
– Shooting
– Producing/Directing

We want someone who can discover and craft a highly engaging narrative, and bring films to life by confident use of stylish text elements, great music choice, and beautiful colour grades. You will have a commitment to playing with the form of video and experimenting with video techniques, and have an insight into the delicate pairing of music and visuals. You should have a keen interest in exploring the space between TV and native online video, and the ability to respond to the needs of today’s digital audience.

As part of our tight-knit five-person team, you will be responsible for creating videos tailored to the needs of the commissioner. You will be a key part of responding creatively to the brief, and will be able to use a wide range of knowledge you have in the technical aspects of multimedia production for online environments.

Your main responsibilities will include:

– Editing video productions from start to finish (including logging, building a narrative, adding titles and graphics, choosing and laying music, colour correction, applying a grade, sound editing, and exporting)
– Incorporating feedback from the client and the in-house team
– Accurately handling footage and ensuring all footage is backed up
– Working closely with the in-house team on other projects, contributing creative ideas and production support

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:
– A strong talent for editing and storytelling, combined with a respect for the brief and client requirements
– Excellent technical skills, with the confidence to work skilfully with video editing software
– Exceptional design eye and visual sensibilities
– A keen ear for choosing captivating music, and a great sense of pace
– Strong skills in working collaboratively and eagerness to push your creative boundaries
– A passion for online video and digital channels

Any of the following would be an added bonus:
– You’re experienced in project management and can shoot
– You have experience in sound design or are a composer
– You have an in depth knowledge of FCPX

Only candidates with the right to live and work in the UK will be considered for this role.

We are committed to equal opportunity, and will consider all applications regardless of sex, disability, age, race, and religion.
