Oxford Theatre Guild are delighted to open applications to direct our 2020 Summer production. We are keen to hear from as many potential directors as possible. As long as you have some directing experience, we would be pleased to hear from you – whether you have worked with us in the past or not.
It is our intention to return to the University Parks following our successful production of The Merchant of Venice there last July - negotiations are underway. This does bring with it the restriction of a run time of 2 hours including interval - so please bear that in mind when considering potential scripts.
Over the past 65 years, the majority of our summer productions have been Shakespearean - but recent years have seen us tackle projects from Pride and Prejudice to Treasure Island. The main thing to think about is what will best appeal to Oxford residents, tourists and visiting students - these three groups make up the majority of our audience.
