Aylesbury Waterside Theatre is seeking a passionate, reliable and engaging Creative Practitioner to deliver a variety of creative learning projects.

Aylesbury Waterside Theatre is one of the leading commercially operated theatres in the UK, successfully hosting the most prestigious touring theatre as well as large scale conferences and events. Aylesbury Waterside Theatre offers a wide and varied programme of first class dance, drama, musicals, opera, comedy and children’s shows. Highlights of our upcoming programme include Madagascar the Musical, Nativity, The Woman in Black and many more.

Aylesbury Waterside Theatre was designed and built as a resource for the local people, with expansive and accessible Front of House spaces which particularly lend themselves for community use opportunities.

Main Purpose:

The Creative Learning & Community Partnerships Freelance Practitioner will deliver on all aspects of Open House Programme (planning, implementation and delivery). The overarching aim of this project is to develop the use, attendance and ownership of the building by extended family groups and people with access requirements.

As a passionate, reliable and engaging Creative Practitioner; you will develop and deliver workshops/activities at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre and on outreach across Aylesbury and the wider area.

The successful Creative Learning & Community Partnerships Freelance Practitioner will work tirelessly to ensure the venue is accessible for all customers and lead on booking, developing and delivering access performances including Dementia Friendly Screenings and Relaxed Performances. They will also be responsible for ensuring staff throughout the venue are well trained to deliver access initivatives.

We are looking for talented practitioners whose facilitation style can be tailored to a broad cross section of the community and education sector, with an awareness of the wider cultural and social development of Aylesbury, and an understanding of the needs of the local community.

Up to 30 hours per week. Fixed term contract 40 weeks per year.
Fee: up to £375 per week
