Oxford is on a quest to find the next generation of UK carnival artists.
The producers of Cowley Road Carnival have joined forces with community arts centre, The Ark- T to deliver a game-changing carnival artist and maker training programme for anyone based in Oxfordshire aged between 18 - 24.

As an inclusive programme we encourage artists from all backgrounds to apply and particularly
welcome applications from disabled artists.

Designed for early career and student artists with a passion for community arts you will:
Receive 6 months of training and mentoring with experienced artist Emily Cooling
Hone your design skills and learn new techniques

Get hands-on teaching and facilitation experience in costume-making workshops in the
community and in schools

Learn from some of the UKs best carnival professionals with masterclasses from New
Carnival Company, Global Carnival Centre, Luton and Gloucester Carnival
This is a paid training programme.
Only 10 students will be accepted onto the 2019/20
programme. Applications are due by Monday the 20th May.
