The OVADA Seven Counties Open was created in 2013 to provide exhibition opportunities, support and development for contemporary artists based in Oxfordshire and the surrounding Counties. Artists at any stage of their career are invited to submit work in any medium for inclusion in a selected group exhibition at OVADA.

Artists will be selected by a panel of selectors for inclusion in the biennial Open exhibition at OVADA’s Warehouse from 10 May – 9 June 2019 during Oxfordshire Artweeks. There will be a Preview event at OVADA on the evening of Thursday 9 May 2019, 6-9pm, and an opportunity to take part in Artists’ Talks and Tours throughout the exhibition.

The entries will be selected by an experienced panel of selectors within the industry, including members of OVADA’s programming committee. There is no pre-selection process meaning that the selectors will view and make their selection from all of the submissions that are received.

Eligibility:
Contemporary artists aged 18 or over practicing in or linked to Oxfordshire and the surrounding Counties of Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Gloucestershire, Northamptonshire, Wiltshire and Warwickshire. Artists can be at any stage in their career and working in any medium. Artists who have previously exhibited with OVADA are welcome to apply however the work must be different from what was shown before.

Criteria:
-Up to three artworks in any medium can be submitted, including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, installation, photography, performance, sound or video.
-Artists must have the exact works in their photo submission available to show at the time of the exhibition.
-There is no size limit however very large works or site-specific installations should be discussed with OVADA prior to submission.
-Work must be as shown in the submitted photographs/links and in a presentable form – although not necessarily framed.
-We will aim to inform artists of the selectors’ decision by 18 April 2019.
-Selected work must be delivered/couriered to OVADA Warehouse between 2-3 May 2019 (or as otherwise agreed with OVADA) and collected w/c 10 June 2019, at the expense of the artist.

Please note that this is a non-selling exhibition. OVADA will put potential buyers in touch with the artists directly and does not charge any commission.
