We are delighted to announce a special call to artists exclusively for our network of Associates.

Curator and OVADA studio artist, Tommy Watkins, will be putting a selection of artworks together, comprised of submissions sent in by OVADA Associates, for the forthcoming Chromantics exhibition. These artworks will be on display at Didcot’s Cornerstone Gallery from 3 – 28 April 2019, with a preview event on 6 April 2019 from 5-8pm. This preview will provide an opportunity for Associates to network with each other and artists can also take part in an informal talk during the preview to further promote their work.

It is anticipated that the show will include, painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed media and digital works. For this exhibition, there is no specific theme however work should be generous in its use of colour as Chromantics is a celebration of the colourful.

This opportunity is only available to OVADA Associates. Non-Associates who would like to take part in this exhibition are welcome to join by 1st March 2019. For further information and to apply or renew please visit: www.ovada.org.uk/associates or email: associates@ovada.org.uk.

To submit work, please send up to 5 clear photographic images or video/audio files of your artwork to: tommywatkins.art@gmail.com. Alternatively artists can submit a weblink to an online portfolio with clear instructions as to which work(s) are available. Artists are invited to send supporting statement about their work and/or practice (maximum 250 words) to support their application however this is not essential.

There is not a size limit for artworks however very large pieces or installations should be discussed with Tommy Watkins, using the email address above, prior to submission. We will aim to select at least one artwork from every Associate that applies, however the final decision is at the discretion of the the curatorial team.

Work must be as shown in the submitted photographs/weblink and in a presentable form. Due to the nature of the gallery’s hanging system, wall-based works will need to be attached to a vertical wire with hooks and therefore must have a standard wire across the back of the frame/stretcher or suggest a suitable alternative (e.g. using bulldog clips to hang works on paper). Information about the gallery can be found online: www.cornerstone-arts.org/visit-our-gallery

Selected work must be delivered/couriered to Cornerstone in Didcot during gallery opening hours between 29-31 March 2019 and collected between 30 April – 1 May 2019, at the expense of the artist. The gallery space is a not invigilated and artwork is displayed at the risk of the artist, who is responsible for insuring their work at the appropriate level both during transit and for the duration of the exhibition.

Exhibited work shall be sold only through Cornerstone during the exhibition period, and the gallery shall take commission, which will be discussed with the exhibiting artists.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING WORK: Monday 4 March 2019 at 12 noon
