Museum of Oxford Telling the Story of Oxford and its people

Are you interested in local social history? Are you the type of person who enjoys talking to children and young people to inspire learning?

Have you heard of Oxford City Council's Museum of Oxford and our exciting new re-development project 'Oxford's Hidden Histories'?

If so we've got an exciting new role that might be for you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Schools Engagement Officer at an exciting time in the Museum's development. The Schools Engagement Officer is a new HLF funded position and will play a key role in ensuring successful delivery of quality learning sessions from the new Learning programme and helps grow and diversify the number of schools and pupils visiting the museum. You will help to develop new sessions and test activities in schools and at the museum. You will work the museum team to promote our schools programme to local schools and evaluate its effectiveness in delivery key learning objectives.

Oxford City Council's Museum of Oxford is a local social history museum that tells the story of Oxford and its people and with a busy outreach programme for older people, schools, community groups and the wider public. This role joins the Museum of Oxford at an exciting time as we are embarking upon a GBP 3m Heritage Lottery Funded (HLF) development project of the museum's galleries and collections.

We particularly welcome applicants from BAME communities, who are currently under-represented across the organisation.
