The House and Facilities Manager is a new role that plays a vital part in welcoming over 50,000 people each year to our diverse programme of theatre, comedy, music, film and participatory activities. Add to this our own created theatre work and an acclaimed participatory programme and you will understand the pride Chipping Norton and beyond has for our unique theatre. This summer sees significant improvements to the theatre and the House Manager will play an important part in our transformed theatre.
The Theatre is a charming and warm environment for this wide range of activities. In addition to the main 200+ seat auditorium, we have workshop and rehearsal spaces and a gallery exhibiting local and national artists. Throughout the year we have a programme of events taking place away from the Theatre requiring duty management with an element of event management combined.
Our customer welcome is a key part of our success. Full of character, knowledgeable about the work we host, and deeply rooted in the local community, our front of house team consists of 2-3 established posts, a number of paid casual bar staff, and a large pool of hard-working volunteer ushers.
We are recruiting for a House Manager to lead this team on from stability to even greater success. We are looking someone who loves working with other people, who has an innate feel for hospitality and ‘welcome,’ and the skills to administrate a busy department, uphold our strong safety record and maintain our well-used front of house spaces. We are looking for people to help us create a vision for the character, efficiency and strength of this core department into the future..
