Artist with experience of designing for the public realm is required to create a new public artwork to be sited at the Sainsbury’s Roundabout in Kidlington.
The artwork will preferably be fabricated in natural, durable materials like wood or stone, although consideration will be given to alternatives coming within budget and suited to the natural landscaping of the site. The theme of the artwork should draw from Kidlington’s historic zoo which was a key attraction to the village in the 1930’s and legend has it that the bones of Rosie the elephant are buried somewhere in the near vicinity.

Some element of community engagement would be desirable as part of this commission with some additional funds made available for this aspect.
Please submit an expression of interest, details of your past experience of working in the public realm, 2 references and a brief outline of your approach to the work.
