Following two sell-out runs of The Tiger's Bride, Marvellous Machine Theatre Company are delighted to announce that we are looking for performers and creative collaborators for our next production:

Wuthering Heights
by Emily Brontë

We are specifically searching for male actors to play a variety of parts. We are open to meeting people with any level of experience.

Heathcliff - An orphan brought to live at Wuthering Heights by Mr. Earnshaw, Heathcliff falls into an intense, unbreakable love with Mr. Earnshaw’s daughter Catherine. A powerful, fierce, and often cruel man, Heathcliff should be played by a tall, broad actor aged approximately 25 - 35.

Edgar Linton - Well-bred but rather spoiled as a boy, he is almost the ideal gentleman: handsome, pleasant to be with, cheerful, and rich. However, his gentlemanly qualities, prove useless in his clashes with Heathcliff. Edgar should be played by an actor of short to average stature, aged approximately 20 to 30.

Hareton and Hindley Earnshaw - An opportunity for an actor to play two quite different men. Hareton: The son of Hindley and Frances Earnshaw, but raised by Heathcliff as an uneducated field worker. Illiterate and quick-tempered, Hareton is easily humiliated, but shows a good heart and a deep desire to improve himself. Hindley: Resentful of Heathcliff’s being brought to live at Wuthering Heights, it is his abuse that drives Heathcliff’s passion for revenge. When his wife dies shortly after giving birth, he lapses into alcoholism and dissipation. These parts should be played by an actor of average height aged approximately 20 to 35.

If you are interested in taking part in our production in any other way, please do feel free to contact us.
