Submitted by Corn Exchange N... on June 9, 2017 - 11:12
Salary / Fee:
up to £20,000
Closing Date:

The Corn Exchange Newbury are looking for a creative individual with experience of running and managing their own arts projects. The ideal candidate will be pro-active and enthusiastic about widening inclusion in the arts. We are particularly interested in meeting people with an understanding and passion for the value of arts participation for a wide variety of community participants.

The Ageing Creatively Co-ordinator role was created in 2016 to develop an entirely new strand of work for the Corn Exchange, Newbury, as part of our growing ‘Get Involved’ programme. This work is funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund as well as by West Berkshire Council and other trusts and foundations. There is now an opportunity to grow the Ageing Creatively Programme from its initial phase and to continue to establish and shape new aspects of the programme of arts activities for older people. Please refer to the application pack on our website (www.cornexchangenew.com) for further information on this role.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone working within an arts learning and participation context to specialise in arts for older people. It is potentially also an opportunity for someone with experience in arts related sectors, (e.g. community learning, managing programmes within the charity sector, heritage etc.), to apply their skills in a new field, although an understanding of the arts is essential.

The Corn Exchange recognises the positive value of diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination and we welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from disabled candidates and those from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds as they are currently under-represented within our staff team.

If you wish to apply for the position, please complete our Equal Opportunities and Information forms, which can be found in the application pack on our website, and return with your CV and a covering letter to Corn Exchange, Market Place, Newbury, RG14 5BD, or email to recruitment@cornexchangenew.co.uk by no later than midday on Monday 3 July 2017.
