Are you interested in not only seeing, but helping us steward an exhibition with the award winning artist Grayson Perry?
New Brewery Arts, Cirencester is currently exhibiting 'Julie Cope's Grand Tour: A story of a life by Grayson Perry' from the 19th May-16th July and we are looking for some new volunteers to help us steward the gallery.
The Crafts Council have recently acquired an exciting new addition to its national collection of contemporary craft which has gone on tour and arrived with us!
The touring exhibition will consist of a diptych of the two tapestries, which tells Julie's story through Perry's recognisably vibrant and detail-orientated style. Alongside the tapestries will be a visualisation and specially commissioned audio recording of the Ballad of Julie Cope. The 3,000 word narrative, written and read by Perry himself, elaborates on the story of Julie’s life and is translatable to audiences across the country.
We are looking for some volunteers to:
- Safeguard the work
- Safeguard the visitors
- Count the visitors
- Answer any questions visitors may have regarding the work.
No previous stewarding experience is necessary just an open and friendly demeanor!
The exhibition truly is amazing, so if you'd like to see some art in the process of helping out at an Arts Charity. This is the job for you!
