We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us deliver experiences that will delight our visitors, young and old, and develop our ideas and audiences for the future.

You’ll meet fascinating people, be part of some unique events and play an important role in helping The Story Museum come true – as well as gain some different skills and experience.

‘I can really recommend volunteering at The Story Museum. Great place, and lovely people.’ – volunteer

Current opportunities...
Our main need is for exhibition stewards who support Front of House in the smooth running of the museum. As an exhibition steward you will be welcoming our visitors, animating the exhibits and helping with our events. We are also looking for volunteers to help with our school visits during the week and with backstage repairs to keep our exhibitions ready for use. All of our roles are flexible, so if you are interested in wearing more than one hat...we absolutely encourage it!

What do you need to do? Complete a brief application form and e-mail it to Jessica.Corfield@storymuseum.org.uk
You will need to attend a training session (around 60 minutes) at which you’ll receive some basic training and learn about our current exhibition and activities. We ask you to commit to at least two half days a month.

Ultimately, we are looking for people who are friendly, enthusiastic and have a love of stories in all their forms - if this is you, please get in touch!
