Cowley Road Works is looking for a new Chair Person to lead as the charity grows and expands its services. Cowley Road Works (CRW) is a small, independent charity, which took over the production of the annual Cowley Road Carnival in 2009 and delivers one of the UK’s biggest, free, outdoor cultural events and are one of the most successful carnivals in the UK, superseded only by the grandfather of all carnivals, Notting Hill.
CRW wants to deliver more and better arts and cultural events, and to develop both income generation and infrastructure in order to achieve that goal. The charity is looking for an individual with experience of leadership in the cultural, arts, public, private or not for profit sector, who can drive strategic thinking, is skilled at people management and is knowledgeable about finance.
CRW is particularly in need an individual with strong contacts or links in to the arts and commercial world, although is open to meeting all applicants interested in this role.
Applicants would ideally live within commuting distance of East Oxfordshire although those residing further out around the UK would be considered if appropriate. A commitment of attending a trustee meeting once every two months and being contactable by Exec director for focus sessions and prospect meetings where necessary is required along with an expectation to attend key annual events such as Carnival and annual fundraisers.
If you’d like to help us with the valuable work we do and you see value in providing cultural events/ experiences to even the most disenfranchised of communities, this could be a great opportunity.
CRW is also looking for three new trustee board members particularly with arts, events, wealth management and / or legal experience. To apply and for more information please see the website link below or contact the executive director Johannah Aynsley email@example.com
