Gobo Theatre are seeking a new Musical Director / Singing Tutor for their youth theatre on Saturday mornings.
Sessions are on Saturday mornings from 10am-12:30. Tutors are not required every week due to us teaching four performing arts elements (acting, dance, singing, stagecraft). Usually around 3 Saturdays a month and there is some flexibility around tutors needs. They take place at Chilton Village Hall in South Oxfordshire.
The right person will be keen to teach participants (aged 7-21, two groups) about all aspects of the voice, not only singing, to build their confidence and understanding. They will also be required to MD the end of year show and have active involvement in the organisation.
Gobo Theatre is a charity trying to break the mould by creating a youth theatre group that is open to all so that everyone, from any background, can have the opportunity to experience being involved. We offer subsidies because we believe that the ‘soft’ skills that the performing arts teaches are essential for anyone to learn as they are so useful in all areas of life. Problem-solving, creativity, team work and confidence are vital to any workplace, home or social situation so we’re trying to ensure that these opportunities are an option for everyone.
