We are seeking an artist to work with us create a prominent landmark feature for the entrance of The Beacon, Wantage. The ideal space to create a welcome feature is the front verge (that is also an oval roundabout) outside the front entrance to The Beacon. We are ken to work with an artist to design a creative solution to act as an imaginative and distinctive entrance feature.

We would like to use the process of commissioning the artwork to broaden our opportunities to work with current users of the centre, our near neighbors (such as King Alfreds School, the assisted housing and the Town Council) and the broader community of Wantage (such as the museum, the library and various festivals and cultural organisations).

We are seeking artists in a variety of materials, although we have a preference to more robust materials such as metal, but could also incorporate lighting.

Artists’ Expression of Interest should include (PDF’s if possible):
- At least 6 images / examples of your previous work
- An Artist Statement detailing your inspiration and your work
- A CV with your full contact details and references of at least 2 previous commissioners of your work
- A short statement on why this project appeals to you
