Jan Harvey was born in Ormskirk, Lancashire. She was tutored in Life Drawing by Max Eden at Southport College of Art. She gained a degree in Graphic Design and Illustration at Leeds.

Jan lives near Chipping Norton and has taken inspiration from the surrounding area to produce landscapes and photographs for a number of exhibitions. She has also produced collections dedicated to France, The Wychwoods and currently she is painting a lot of elephants in support of her chosen charity EleAid!

Her CV stretches back over twenty years and includes many exhibitions, participation in Oxfordshire Artweeks and this year she was nominated for the Banbury Open Prize.

Jan is also a writer and is working on her first novel based in France. In 2013 she won the Hummer Prize for Creative Writing.

Jan runs workshops in subjects that include Drawing Horses, Life Drawing, Sketching and Painting.

Jan is also a Life Coach specialising in helping artists and writers to find their creativity and helping clients to de-clutter their lives and achieve personal goals. She is a specialist in helping people who were put off art as youngsters and never had the confidence to go back.
