Oxfordshire Artweeks is an artists' organisation that promotes the work of Oxfordshire artists with a giant three-week-long county-wide May Festival in nearly 500 venues across the whole county, a smaller season of Christmas exhibitions and events, and feature pieces in the local media all year round
Exhibitions include group shows in manor houses, museums, churches and many other types of space, and individual artists showing in their own homes or studios. The festival includes a wide variety of media; painting, photography, textiles, sculpture, ceramics, furniture, glass, mosaics, jewellery, and new media and is a cost effective opportunity to meet the public, build contacts, sell work take commissions or promote courses.
Formally the Oxfordshire Visual Arts Festival, Artweeks is a non profit-making company, limited by guarantee and owned by its members. Everyone is welcome to take part if they live or work in Oxfordshire (or have a connection through an Oxfordshire-based group) and there is no selection process for artists wishing to participate.
