The Oxford Weaving Studio (www.oxfordweavingstudio.com) is a new creative space in the heart of Jericho, Oxford that celebrates the craft of weaving.

This new, inspiring studio space is home to a variety of looms available to hire or purchase, an extensive yarn shop and a stimulating display of handwoven textiles, creating the ultimate setting in which to master weaving.

Founded by textile designer, Cassandra Smith (www.cassandrasabo.co.uk), Cassandra fell in love with weaving at university over 10 years ago. Learning about warp and weft was just the beginning of her long and enduring love of fibre and for the techniques, materials and processes needed to create beautiful handwoven textiles.

Today, Cassandra and her team are dedicated to helping people of all ages and abilities experience this wonderful craft. They want to share their passion for weaving by bringing their knowledge and experience to others.

Their mission is to:

1. Create fun and informative weaving workshops, taught by experienced weavers.
2. Design simple weaving looms, tools and kits with gorgeous yarns and easy-to-follow instructions.
3. Provide affordable access to weaving equipment for Textile Design undergraduates, graduates and emerging designers to follow their passion for weaving.

At The Oxford Weaving Studio they are also committed to working with quality, sustainable materials whenever possible and they aim to reduce textile waste by using waste yarns and fibres in the production of their textiles and handspun art yarns.
