Take three hundred years of music from around the world, turn it upside down, infuse it with humour, energy, passion and pathos – and you have the recipe with which the Oxford Concert Party, described as ‘one of the most entertaining, ground-breaking groups around’ (Oxford Times) delights their audience wherever they go. Be it Vivaldi or Piazzolla, French café music or Argentinian tango, Irish laments or Finnish polkas, this ‘bunch of superb musicians’ (Daily Telegraph) create a rich, colourful, expressive sound, and their vibrant virtuosity, zany and off-beat humour make for an unforgettable performance. The Oxford Concert Party has made CDs, performed in festivals throughout Britain, on radio and TV, and been ‘Pick of the Fringe’ at the Edinburgh Festival.

OCP have made tours to Holland twice, held a three-week residency at Italy’s premiere festival at Spoleto, by personal invitation of the late Gian Carlo Menotti, toured the southern Mediterranean, and played numerous concerts all over England, Ireland and Scotland. OCP has an extensive ongoing programme of community outreach work which includes concerts and projects in prisons, detention centres, primary schools, for elderly groups, people with dementia and children and adults with learning difficulties. OCP have recently undertaken projects in many primary schools in Oxfordshire, and completed work on major participatory music projects for older people in Aylesbury Vale, Leicestershire, Oxfordshire and in prisons nationally.
