I trained in fine art painting and printing in London. I have exhibited nationally and internationally with solo shows in Oxfordshire and New Zealand.
My paintings celebrate the natural and man The words of Howardmade environment. The slope of a roof a glimpse of a tree at an odd angle the variety of shape and complexity of foliage in varying seasons. Pattern, shape and rhythm form the visual content of my work. The words of Howard Jacobson (Royal Academy speech) echo my thoughts: No traveller ever sets out with so little idea of where he is going or how he is going to get there than an artist does. And no traveller ever gets to a more wonderful place. Not everyone is fortunate enough to earn their living playing. But what draws people to art and artists is a desire to enjoy the propinquity of play. For it is the very freedom of the imagination. And what else were we born to do, but imagine freely?
Next Exhibition Exposition 75:A Journey through Art The Old Fire Station Gallery Henley on Thames Thursday 4 July - Tuesday 9 July 2019.
