Film Oxford (charity 1041014) is an independent centre for film and digital media based in Oxford. Our aim is to build an inclusive filmmaking community and a ladder of opportunity for all. We offer a range of courses for everyone from beginners to professionals; we also take on commissions, develop and manage community projects, run youth film activities and co-ordinate major screening events in and around the county.
Our adult short film courses are run by award winning filmmakers at subsidised prices. They teach you the technical side of film and digital media, as well as the creative tools you need to go on to write, make and distribute your own films. We have more than 40 years’ experience in delivering training to complete beginners, emerging talent, artists, and film & TV professionals, as well as the education, corporate and charity sectors.
Our youth projects and training bring together the most passionate young film and digital creators to explore, develop and create, such as with the BFI academy programme.
Film Oxford is also home to the Shadowlight Artists, a group of Oxfordshire artists with learning disabilities, who have a growing national and international profile.
