Dance 8 summer performing arts course

Dance 8 are running a performing arts workshop for 5 - 18 year olds.

From the 26th to the 29th of July 2010.

£60 for the course.

The course ends in a performance opportunity for the students and a social event for all the family.

Participants will learn a range of dance styles and acting and singing skills, taught by a professional artists.

Cowley Carnival 2010 - Stalls Wanted

Carnival in the Park on Sunday 4th July will host a number of diverse food and non-food stalls (including clothing, art, crafts, gifts, not-for-profit organisations, workshops, demonstrations, music/cds, books, innovative, environmentally - friendly activities, information-only stalls, charities and relaxation services and many, many more.... There will also be a ticketted event on Saturday 3rd, details still being finalised.

Demonstration Exploration Collaboration at OVADA

21 - 24 April

OVADA is proud to present 'Demonstration Exploration and Collaboration' (DEC) - an improvised collaboration of music, dance and drawings. The exhibition will be accompanied by lively workshops, seminars and a series of exciting evening events.

DEC will bring together Poetry by Robin Kirkpatrick, Music by Malcolm Atkins, Dance with Susie Crow and Drawing by Clare Bassett, Antonia Bruce, Kassandra Isaacson and Susan Moxley. The live sessions will also welcome special guest improvisers.

OFVM Film Oxford is independent charity based at the Centre for Film and Digital Media in Oxford (since 1987). It offers training in the craft of film and digital video production, from total beginners through to advanced courses. It also trains people to use creative software such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects, AVID, Final Cut Pro and Flash. OFVM also offers popular Screenwriting courses, Animation workshops, Specialist Masterclasses, Training Bursaries and Production Awards. It runs screenings and network events as well as providing production support and script development.

MASQUERADE - PointZero physical theatre

Jazz bar and journey; mask and meaning, love and loss; girls and giggles; silence and screams; energy and excitement all tumble together within a cleverly devised kaleidoscope of dynamic physical expression, vocal and choreography, an ensemble journey of closeness and separation, kiss-and-tell, hide-and-seek, set against the inspired backdrop of a thumping soundtrack.

Creative Partners with a wide range of practices and experience are needed to support the development of our creative learning programme at Cogges.

Cogges Manor Farm, formerly an agricultural farm museum under the stewardship of Oxfordshire County Council, will be under the management of a new Charitable Trust from April 2010. The County Council maintain a keen interest in the educational value of the site, and during the coming year are supporting a programme of pilot learning opportunities for Schools and the wider community.

The Devising /Directing (”Re-Loaded!”) Workshop is a dynamic, exciting and highly practical, professional creative training experience. A time of white-hot, creativity, learning and experimentation! Creative ideas, left to themselves, remain simply and only ideas! Over time, these ‘frozen ideas’ are, at best, frustrating – at worst soul and confidence destroying. Ideas remain only ideas, unless… We act on them! Do Something about them!
